Aplus Support

The aim is to enable people to live their lives more independently

Our Care and Support workers are available to provide support in all sectors of health and social care. We provide a mixture of practical, financial and emotional support for adults who need extra help to manage their lives and be independent - including older people, people with a disability or long-term illness, people with mental health problems, and carers. The aim is to enable people to live their lives more independently and provide them with the information, opportunities, tools and skills they need to live a fulfilling life.

What We Do

  • Our support workers also provide general informational support in the form of sign-posting, information & referral to professional and specialist services and helplines.
  • Our Support Workers provide support to meet the Service Users’ social care needs including social interaction and some domestic activities. Domestic activities will be specifically and exclusively for the Service User and may include but are not limited to light housework, preparing meals, washing up after meal preparation, laundry, and shopping.
  • Our Support Workers also provide social care and support for chronically sick or disabled clients, support in dealing with the social difficulties for those affected by conflicts and disasters and responses to gender based violence.
  • We also have a team of support worker who work with people who have learning disabilities, with just one individual or a group of individuals living together in a supported environment. Their role focuses mainly on promoting independence and the wellbeing in a person with learning disabilities.
  • We provide social care support to people in their own home or in a care home with the main goal of looking after the wellbeing of and empowering the people we support to live as independently and fully as possible. This may include home care, meals-on-wheels or personal care – help with getting up, washing, dressing, feeding or going to the toilet.
  • Our social support workers can help you cope with setbacks, solve problems, improve self-esteem and even manage health problems and stress. If needed our support workers accompany you/the service user to attend social support activities to help you maintain an active social life through the participation in outings with friends, or attendance at an organised drop-in session, social group gathering or outing on a regular/monthly basis. People who feel like they have the social support they need tend to have lower stress levels.
  • In other cases, our support workers provide support with organising physical, leisure, recreational or social activities such as social outings, physical exercise, shopping, playing games, cooking, etc. These services are called ‘daycare services’.
