Reablement is a type of care that helps you relearn how to do daily activities, like cooking meals and washing and more

Reablement care, also called intermediate care, is a type of short-term home care that may be necessary after a hospital stay, accident or an illness to enable you to become independent again.

Some people might also refer to reablement care as post-operative or post-surgical care, but these are slightly less specific terms as they don’t suggest an obvious end date, whereas reablement care is specifically aimed at people who will regain their independence after the period of care.

What We Do

A reablement support program is usually put in place by a local authority or other healthcare organisation to assist individuals who may have experienced one of the following:
1. Overcoming a period of illness
2. Have a temporary disability
3. Recovering from surgery or other form of acute treatment.

We provide experienced, competent care workers available who can help clients who are undergoing a reablement program. This therapy of a short-term support of up to 8 weeks, has as its objective the aim of increasing independence and overcoming practical and emotional difficulties. It is also designed to help you or your loved one regain your skills and confidence, so you can continue to move around safely and independently at home.
Our Care and Support Workers will often work under the direction of an Occupation Therapist (OT) as they assist and encourage you, often with the aid of equipment prescribed by the OT.
The goal is to enhance the client’s independence and confidence by assist them to relearn essential tasks, instead of the Care and Support Workers merely doing the tasks for them.
